Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are designed to be worn for the first six months following tooth extractions. During this period, the gums and bone tissue will undergo significant changes as they heal, which can result in the dentures becoming loose or ill-fitting. This is because the shape and size of the jawbone will change as the healing process progresses, leading to a less-than-perfect fit.

After the six-month period, the immediate dentures will need to be replaced with a new set of permanent dentures that are custom-made to fit the newly healed gums and jawbone. This is because the shape and size of the mouth will have stabilized by this point, making it possible to create a more precise and comfortable fit for the permanent dentures.

It's important to note that immediate dentures are a temporary solution, and they are not intended to be a long-term replacement for natural teeth. While they can help to improve oral function and appearance during the healing process, they will eventually need to be replaced with permanent dentures to ensure optimal comfort, functionality, and oral health.
